The Facility
Harwood Farm is a distinctive horse boarding facility located in Woodbine, Maryland. The owner/manager lives on the property and provides excellent personalized care catering to the health and well-being of the horses. All disciplines, fox-chasers, and retirees are welcome.
Our location, adjacent to Patuxent Park, provides access to 6,700 acres of adjoining parkland for pleasure riding. More importantly, there are numerous other areas to pleasure ride without ever leaving the farm,such as a turf track and a turf landing strip, along with riding around the numerous paddocks and a three-acre pond.
Harwood Farm has a beautifully restored 19th century stone bank barn that includes a wash stall with hot and cold water, along with a bathroom and tack room. The stalls are rubber 12×12 matted with straw bedding. An automatic fly spray system is available during the summer.
Adjacent to the bank barn is an outdoor arena – 100 x 200 with excellent footing. Jumps are available. There are seven paddocks, one of which is 22 acres, with run-in sheds and four-board fencing. Private horse paddocks are also available with a run-in shed complete with lightning rods.
Health Plan
All horses are required to be on a family health plan under the guidance of Dr.Roger Scullin of Damascus Equine Associates. This insures that all horses are wormed and vaccinated on a regular schedule at the appropriate time. Owners may use their own veterinarian for any health issues that occur.
